Archiving Scans with Ecora Patch Manager

1. Go to Tools and select "Archiving and Purging Settings".


2. The Archiving dialog box will appear.



Click "Manage data sources"
3. You can either type the Server instance in the appropriate box or click Discover Servers and select the Server instance from the drop-down box.
Select the authentication method and click the Verify button to validate it.
Select the database where the archives will be stored if this has been previously created or check the box for "Create database" if you intend to create one at this point.
Click OK when completed.


4. On the Options section you can specify either the exact no. of scans that will be retained or the retaining period.
Checking the box "Never retain failed system scans" will delete all failed system scan results from the Patch Manager database before the archiving task will start. You can also specify the systems for which to archive the scan results by checking the "Apply only to selected systems" check-box.


On top-center you have Task type, this will allow you to select if you wish to move or delete the scan results that comply to the criteria you set in the Options area.
5. Click the Schedule button to open the Scheduler dialog box. Set the password by clicking "Set password" and switch to the Schedule tab for the time/date schedule options.


Click OK when completed, and once more click OK on the Archiving screen.
The created schedule task can be found in your operating system`s Scheduled tasks folder.
