Merchants and processors who accept or process credit or debit card transactions are under increasing scrutiny to ensure cardholder data is securely handled and stored. Visa recently announced a new Compliance Acceleration Plan that requires level one and two merchants and their acquirers to comply with the PCI Data Security Standard by the end of the year. Those failing to do so are likely to face substantial fines. Visa doled out over $4.6 million in fines in 2006.
The VeriSign Global Security Consulting team are perhaps the most seasoned team of assessors today, having been among the first to conduct onsite audits and scanning services under the Visa Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) and MasterCard Site Data Protection (SDP) program, both predecessors to the current standard. Recently, they published Lessons Learned: Top Reasons for PCI Audit Failure and How to Avoid Them, findings from the several hundred audits they've done annually over the past four years.
In this interactive webinar, Branden Williams, Director, PCI Practice, with VeriSign will share important lessons from these results. Then, one of Ecora's experienced industry experts will show practical ways to avoid learning these lessons the hard way.
