Warning  Warning:  This MUST be the database Auditor is actively using. If there is a mismatch between the database specified here and in Auditor, Auditor detects Executive Dashboard as unconfigured.

  5. If you wish to update the discovered information (i.e. database instances on the selected server), click Refresh.
  6. If you wish to specify different credentials or authentication type, navigate under the Connection Parameters node and specify desirable credentials.
  7. Click in the checkbox on the Policy Database page for Use the same SQL Server with Ecora Auditor Professional or specify a different server for the Ecora Executive Dashboard database.

  8. Enter, or select from the drop-down list, the Ecora Executive Dashboard database.

  10. If you wish to specify different credentials or authentication type, navigate under the Connection Parameters node of Policy Database.
  11. If you wish to change calculation frequency or data age limit, navigate to the Calculation parameters under Policy Calculator service node.
    • Choose how do you want to run policy calculations: to Recalculate each time a new snapshot has been written into the Configuration Database or to ..Recalculate every day at the following time(s). Each time data is written (which is the default) keeps dashboard information current to the most recent data, but requires processing time, so has performance ramifications. Daily at fixed times means you can control exactly when the processing occurs (such as after hours), but means that user expectations must be set for the dashboard data to be accurate to that schedule, not real-time.
    • If you chose fixed times, use the spin box to set a time and click Add to create a schedule recalculation.
    • Update or delete any existing scheduled times for recalculation, if desired.
    • Use the two drop-downs to set the limit on the age of data to be used in policy compliance calculations. This allows you to disregard data you consider too old to be relevant for your compliance standards.
Helpful Hint  Tip:  The default age limit is two weeks. If you are not seeing systems or data, it may be that you have no data within the age limit. Try increasing the time range.
  12. If you wish to specify the non-default parameters for Ecora Executive Dashboard web-site(i.e. virtual directory or port), navigate to the Virtual Directory node and specify the parameters in accordance with your choice.

  13. If you feel that all configuration parameters are set, press the Next button and wait while the software implements your settings.
  14. When the configuration process is finished, click Complete button. You will be reminded to run Auditor to complete configuration.
  15. Start Auditor and click on the Policies tab in the left pane of the main interface.
  16. When prompted to initialize, click Next >.
  17. Click Next >again to initialize and update policies. Before in the Update Mode area you can choose whether to allow keeping your changes with and without updating policies, or to discard them and overwrite all policies from the package. You can also prefer to update not all policies but just one by un-checking Apply to all built-in policies option and choosing the policy name from the list.
  18. Wait while the policies are being updated and click Finish button after the completion.

  19. Proceed to the Auditor Policy tab.
