Auditor Help: Auditor Console Lock

In large or highly secured environments, administrators may wish to run Auditor in "Console Lock" mode. Locking the console prevents unauthorized users accessing the interface at all, where they could collect data, change scheduled jobs, run reports, or even make changes to the environment.

Once enabled, can only be run if the correct credentials are entered. No actions can be performed without credentials while Console Lock is enabled; upgrading, restarting, uninstalling.

To enable console lock:

1. Choose File... Settings... from the menu.
2. Click on the Preferences tab.
   
3. In the Security area, enter the login of the account that will be allowed to lock and unlock this console.
4. Enter the password for the account allowed to lock and unlock this console.
5. Re-type the password to verify it.
6. Click in the checkbox to Enable Console Lock.
7. Click OK.
8. Set up any collections, scheduled jobs, reports.
9. Choose File... Exit to close the application.
