Industry Webinar to Focus on the Shocking Truth
from PCI Assessments

Why Companies are Failing PCI and How You Can Avoid Becoming One

Portsmouth, N.H. – December 4, 2007 – Ecora Software, a leading provider of automated configuration change and compliance audit reporting solutions, will host a joint webinar with VeriSign on the findings from a recent VeriSign study about "Lessons Learned: Top Reasons for PCI Audit Failure and How to Avoid Them." These findings come from the several hundred audits that VeriSign has done annually over the past four years. Ecora's Jon Day, Senior Systems Engineer, and VeriSign's Branden Williams, Director, PCI Practice, will share important lessons from this study and best practices.

The VeriSign Global Security Consulting team are perhaps the most seasoned team of assessors today, having been among the first to conduct onsite audits and scanning services under the Visa Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) and MasterCard Site Data Protection (SDP) program, both predecessors to the current standard.

In this interactive webinar Branden Williams will share important lessons from these results. Then, Jon Day will show practical ways to avoid learning these lessons the hard way.

Attendees will learn:

  • The Top Ten PCI Audit Failures
  • Practical Tips for Avoiding PCI Failure
  • The Impact of Automated Configuration Auditing and Analysis for Improving PCI-DSS Compliance

The enactment of the PCI Data Security Standard in January 2007 has placed merchants and processors who accept or process credit or debit card transactions under increasing scrutiny to ensure cardholder data is securely handled and stored. Visa's Compliance Acceleration Plan requires all Level One and Two merchants and their acquirers to comply with the PCI Data Security Standard by the end of 2008. High-level breaches that have been reported in the media have continued to keep PCI compliance in the headlines and lead stories of industry and mainstream media.
