Portsmouth, N.H. – October 29, 2007 – Ecora Software, the market-proven leader for Configuration Audit and Analytics solutions, is pleased to announce that John Walsh, Senior Vice President of Engineering, will be presenting at this year's BMC UserWorld. Taking place in the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre in Vancouver, BC, Canada, on October 29 through November 2, this year's BMC UserWorld is expected to attract top IT professionals from around the globe.
In his presentation, Walsh will talk about the exploding adoption rate virtualization has experienced in today's IT environment and how to avoid potential pitfalls from this migration. Walsh will share that, while virtual environments have the potential to save considerable overhead expense and improve productivity, the ease of creating new virtual machines and the dynamic allocation of services create new challenges for maintaining optimal performance and availability levels, maintaining security standards, and validating compliance with internal standards and external compliance regulations. In his session, attendees will learn the unique challenges of securing virtual machines by detailing the architecture and default role based access found in VMware ESX. The session concludes with 10 specific recommendations attendees can apply to improve security on their virtual environments.
BMC UserWorld 2006 generated enormous excitement throughout the IT community. It was the most comprehensive user event BMC has ever produced, with over 200 technical and business sessions, keynotes by BMC executives and industry luminaries, a full exhibit hall with over 50 partners participating, and plenty of networking time. For the more than 1,850 professionals in attendance, it was an opportunity to learn, to share, and to grow.
