Question:  Why does the patch report say "Missing Patch" when it is already installed?

Answer:  There are two possibilities here:

  1. Learn more about by carefully reading the analysis output; in
    particular “Comment:” which precisely describes why PatchLite decided
    this patch is missing. There are three possible reasons for a missing patch:

    • The registry key was not found or as specified in the analysis database.
    • The file (DLL) has a version different (older) than what is specified in
      the database.
    • The file (DLL) has a checksum different from that specified in the
      database. (Not MD5 checksums but a proprietary value)
      In all cases, the most likely solution is to re-install the patch.

  2. The hotfix has been superseded. Choose to re-install the expected
    patch or keep the current installed (higher) version.
