John J. Rando

John J. Rando, Director
Mr. Rando has over twenty-five years of experience in the Information Technology Industry. He served as Chairman of the Board for Ecora for several years and is currently serving as chairman for @Stake Inc. (a professional services firm), and Storability Software (a provider of storage resource management software solutions). He is a director of Cognos Inc. (COGN), the world leader in business intelligence and corporate performance management software. Previously, until July 1999, he was a Corporate Officer, Senior Vice President and Group General Manager of Compaq Services for Compaq Computer Corporation, responsible for $7 billion in revenues and over 27,000 service professionals worldwide. The organization provided lifecycle solutions including network and systems integration, operations management, multi-vendor and business critical services in 115 countries. He was Chairman and President of Compaq's Federal Systems L.L.C., a subsidiary responsible for Compaq's U.S. Federal Government business. He joined Compaq in June 1998 from Digital Equipment Corporation, where he was also a Corporate Officer, Senior Vice President and Group General Manager of the worldwide services organization. During his twenty-year tenure with Digital, he served in several software and service management positions. Recognized for his work in developing software product services, he pioneered new service delivery processes, such as customer response centers and predictive service methods and utilities. Under his leadership Digital Services advanced a breakthrough multi-vendor service capability and an extensive alliance with Microsoft, making Digital the number one NT service provider in the world and Microsoft's first Prime Integrator. Mr. Rando is highly accomplished in leading corporate change. Mr. Rando is a director of ePresence Inc. (EPRE), of Westboro, MA; a former director of National Computer Systems, of Minneapolis, MN, Yankee Energy Systems, Inc in Meriden, CT and a former Advisor Partner for NewcoGen Group, LLC of Cambridge, MA. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA and a Masters of Management from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL.
